Everything You Need to Know Before Summer Fun Begins

Below, you’ll find everything you need to prepare for a seamless camp experience—from carpool logistics and extended care to what to wear and pack. Our priority is to ensure every camper has a safe and enjoyable time, so please review these details carefully before camp begins.

Camp Logistics & Pick-Up Information
Carpool Guidelines
Morning Camps: 9 am–12 pm
- Drop-off begins at 8:30 am. Follow carpool signs at the Cannon Campus entrance and use our campus map as a guide.
- Display a completed carpool sign in your passenger window for smooth drop-off and pick-up.
- Summer staff will assist campers from vehicles and escort them to their camps.
- If you need to park and help your child, escort them to the sidewalk where our staff will guide them.
- Pick-up begins at 11:45 am. Use the carpool sign for identification, and staff will assist with loading campers into cars.
Full-Day Camps (9 am–4 pm)
- Drop-off begins at 8:30 am. Follow the same carpool instructions as morning camps.
- Pick-up starts at 3:45 pm. Remember to use your carpool sign and allow staff to assist with loading.
Afternoon Camps (1–4 pm)
- Drop-off begins at 12:45 pm. Follow carpool signage and use the campus map for reference.
- Pick-up starts at 3:45 pm. Staff will guide the process to keep the carpool line moving.
Safety Notes
- Please do not exit your car in the carpool lane.
- If you need extra time, pull forward to the Buckle Up Station to assist your camper safely.
Camp Essentials
What to Wear
- Dress comfortably in clothes suitable for summer activities.
- Closed-toe sneakers are recommended for safety.
- Label all personal belongings. Lost and Found is located in the Summer Programs office.
Food & Snacks
- Pack a refillable water bottle. Hydration stations are available on campus.
- Lunch is provided in the dining hall for campers registered for Lunch Care. Campers are welcome to bring their own peanut- and nut-free lunch if they prefer. Review the lunch menu.
Camp T-Shirt
Every camper will receive a T-shirt on their first day of camp. Please note: only one T-shirt is provided per summer, regardless of the number of weeks your camper attends. If your camper is enrolled in multiple weeks, they will receive their T-shirt during their first week of camp.
Medical Support
- A certified athletic trainer is on-site during all camp hours to handle medical issues, including injuries and illness.
- Note: Trainers cannot administer over-the-counter medication. If your child has specific medical needs not covered during registration, contact the Summer Programs office directly.
Extended Care Details
Morning Care (7:30–9 am)
- Use the main Carmel Road entrance and park in a designated spot.
- Escort your camper to the Morning Care classroom following directional signs.
- Summer staff will escort campers to their camps at 8:45 am.
Lunch Care (12–1 pm)
- Camp directors will guide campers to the Bailey Dining Hall for lunch.
- NEW for 2025: Lunch is included in the Lunch Care fee and served in the dining hall (lunch menu is shared prior to the start of camp).
- Campers are welcome to bring their own peanut- and nut-free lunch, but the price remains the same.
After Care (4–5 pm)
- Campers will be escorted to After Care following their camp session.
- Park and follow signs to pick up your child by 5 pm.
- A late fee of $1/minute applies for pick-ups after 5 pm.
Weather Safety Guidelines
Weather Precautions
- In case of lightning, campers will remain indoors until an all-clear signal is given.
- High temperatures are expected—apply sunscreen before arrival and ensure campers have a full water bottle.
Inclement Weather – Lightning Protocol
If lightning is detected in the area, a school alarm will sound, and all campers will remain indoors until an all-clear signal is given or further instructions are provided by staff.
Heat Advisory
With high temperatures expected throughout the summer, please ensure your child:
- Applies sunscreen before arriving at camp.
- Brings a full water bottle each day.
Water stations will be available on campus for easy refills to keep campers hydrated and safe.
