The Class of 2017 is Country Day Ready!

On Friday, May 26, 131 seniors received their diplomas from Head of School Mark Reed, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Art Roselle, and Head of Upper School Matt Less. Senior Oscar Cranz was selected as the speaker for the class and Tom Fredenberg, long-time Lower and Middle School teacher, received the Alumni Association Distinguished Faculty Award.

  • 131 graduates will attend 75 different colleges and universities in 24 states, Washington, DC, England, and France
  • The class was admitted to 185 different colleges and universities. (See full list here.)
  • 69% of the class will attend colleges and universities outside of North Carolina; 52% will be attending private universities.
  • 819 applications submitted by 119 seniors, which averages 7 per student.

Scholarships and Special Opportunities

  • $11 million total scholarship offers based on academic merit, athletics abilities, or special talents.
  • A recipient of the Morehead-Cain Scholarship to attend UNC-Chapel Hill; the fourth Country Day recipient in five years 
  • A National Merit Scholar, attending the University of Chicago
  • Schools accepting one or more senior into their Honors programs:
