Get Involved

The vitality of our alumni program relies on the support of alumni volunteers. Whether planning and organizing social and networking events, raising funds for the school, or keeping classmates informed and engaged with their alma mater, our alumni volunteers demonstrate their commitment to Country Day's mission and a deep desire to see our school and Alumni Association thrive.

While all former students and graduates automatically become members of the Alumni Association, those who wish to become more involved may choose from a variety of volunteer opportunities.

Ways to Get Involved

Alumni Council

For alumni who are passionate about Country Day and desire to more deeply invest in shaping, building, and promoting our Alumni Relations program, the Alumni Council is an ideal leadership role. While serving on the Alumni Council requires a regular commitment of time, it provides a great opportunity to gain a big picture understanding of our school's mission and core institutional priorities, be among the first to know about strategic decisions made by the Board of Trustees and the Administrative Council, and directly influence and positively impact our alumni program. Country Day Fund Alumni Committee

The Country Day Fund (formerly Annual Fund) is Country Day's top giving priority, and Alumni Annual Fund volunteers are essential to the success of each year's fundraising campaign. Through peer-to-peer outreach, the Country Day Fund Alumni Committee reinforces the efforts of the Advancement Office to communicate the value of investing in the school, educate alumni about the importance in participating in the Country Day Fund, and secure crucial financial support to further the mission of the school. Class Reunion Committees

Each alumni class celebrates a class reunion every five years during Alumni Weekend, which is held in the spring. Beginning the previous fall, class reunion committees work with the Alumni Office to plan and promote their class reunion. By identifying ways to meaningfully engage classmates before, during, and after the event and through peer-to-peer outreach to encourage attendance, class reunion volunteers help make the reunion a memorable and inclusive experience for all members of the class. Learn more about Alumni Weekend.

Class Agents

Class Agents strengthen the connection and foster dialogue between their classmates and the school by keeping class members informed about alumni and school news and upcoming events, sending updated contact information to the Alumni Office, and encouraging their peers to submit Class Notes for Perspectives and participate in the Country Day Fund. Class Agents also serve on their class reunion committee and help identify other potential volunteers. Learn more about our Class Agent program.

Event Volunteers

If you're not looking for a long-term volunteer commitment, but would like to help with a specific event or project, we can always use an extra hand. Whether you're most comfortable behind-the-scenes or you're a social butterfly, there are many different ways to share your time and expertise: planning and organization, publicizing events through e-mail, social media, and word-of-mouth, welcoming guests as they arrive, and set up/break down.
