About the Exhibit
From the Ground Up: Masterworks from the Carolinas (and Beyond) celebrates traditional and innovative works of art in ceramics, metal, glass, and textiles from the North and South Carolina region. The generosity of Bill and Patty Gorelick made the largest part of the exhibit possible. Country Day honors the Gorelicks for their dedication to collecting art and supporting arts education.

Every year, Country Day proudly features private collections and works from special artists, including Romare Bearden, W. Louis Jones, Cundo Bermúdez, H.H. Adams, Sylvester Britton, Sam Gilliam, Rebecca Haworth, Cheryl Warrick, and others.
