Soup Bowls for Hospice
All students, parents, faculty, and alumni are invited to join us for our 13th annual workshop to make ceramic bowls to benefit Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte.
In a relaxed atmosphere, participants make ceramic bowls using simple, easy techniques that require no previous experience. Finished bowls are donated and sold at Soup on Sunday, a fundraising event for Hospice and Palliative Care, held in January. Materials are provided and Friends of the Arts volunteers are on hand to provide assistance.
Former Country Day parent Kay Ethridge introduced this collaborative community service initiative to the Country Day community 13 years ago. The event has grown, both in the number of participants and the beauty and creativity of the bowls produced.
This event is family friendly. If you haven't participated before, don't miss it this year. Come by the Hance Fine Arts Center Ceramics Studio between 3:30-5:00 pm on October 24, and be prepared to get your hands dirty and have some fun!
