"Service Saturday" Benefitting Beds for Kids
As part of our 75th anniversary celebration, Country Day is supporting Beds for Kids, a Charlotte-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to provide beds and essential furniture to children and their families in need. Along with a variety of student-led projects happening throughout the year, we're hosting a "Service Saturday" on February 25 and we invite our entire community to participate.
Two ways to participate:
- Mattress/Furniture Drive: 9 am–12 pm, Cannon Campus
We're collecting new mattresses, pillows, blankets/quilts, and bed linens, as well as new or gently used bed frames, furniture, and lamps. (Click here for a full list of items Beds for Kids will accept.) The Beds for Kids truck will be parked in the faculty parking lot on Cannon Campus, and volunteers will be on-site to collect, record, and load your donations.
- Organize or Participate in a Community Service Project
Commit to spending time on Saturday serving the community and encourage your family and friends to do the same. Find a cause or organization that aligns with your interests and passions, or volunteer with one of Country Day's community partnerships.
Make sure to share the story of your service with us. E-mail information (where, who, why, and the time you serve) and a photo
to CountryDay75@charlottecountryday.org, or share a post or photo on social media using the hashtag #CountryDay75 (download and print this sign to write on and hold in the photo).
If every Country Day student volunteered just two hours, this would add up to more than 3,300 hours of service.
