The College Counseling Office continues to invest in strong, student-centered support for families while planning thoughtfully for the future.
A national search is underway for a new Director of College Counseling, a role focused on long-term vision, strategic leadership, and strengthening systems and structures in a rapidly evolving admissions landscape. The new Director will begin in summer 2026, aligned with the start of the school year.
As part of this transition, Catherine Odum will move into the role of Senior Associate Director of College Counseling, allowing her to devote even more time to individualized work with students and families. With her deep institutional knowledge, Catherine will also help ensure continuity during the leadership transition. Catherine has served the Country Day community for 22 years and remains a vital part of the College Counseling team.
In addition, Donna Witman, College Counseling Assistant & Registrar, will retire at the end of this school year after 36 years of service to Country Day. Donna has been a trusted presence for generations of families and has played an essential role in stewarding transcripts and academic records for alumni. A search for her successor will take place later this spring.
Together, these changes reflect a continued commitment to accessibility, personalized guidance, and thoughtful growth within College Counseling—ensuring students feel known, families feel supported, and the college process remains clear and human-centered.
