For 50 years, the NCTC High School Play Festival platform has strengthened arts education in schools by bringing curriculum to life, challenging students to do their best work, and contributing to the development of future audiences for the performing arts. This year, theatre arts educators and students rose to the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic and presented their work virtually.
Two students from each performance were selected for award recognition, based on their talent and contributions to the production. Congratulations to the following students on receiving NCTC Exceptional Theatrical Achievement Awards:

- Alice Whisnant, for Acting in the production of “Reconnecting…”
- Andie Alcorn, for Acting in the production of “Digital Shorts”
