Upper School Students Participate in the 74th Mars Hill University Choral Festival

74th Mars Hill Choral Festival

Five Upper School choral students attended the 74th Mars Hill University Choral Festival over the winter break.

Students Benjamin Farnham, Henry Fuller, Paisley Fuller, Lucas Pearce, and Shivani Sundaram participated in the 350-member choral ensemble comprised of students from 80 schools in North Carolina. In October, more than 1,000 students auditioned for 350 seats in the choir. Dr. Paul Nesheim, professor of music at Augustana University in South Dakota served as the festival conductor. Following two days of rehearsals, the festival choir performed a concert of music including repertoire from the Renaissance and Romantic time periods, as well as folk songs and an African American spiritual. Congratulations to our students!
