Since our founding in 1941, Country Day has had a reputation for strong community ties and enduring traditions that build community. From big events like Big Saturday and Grandparents Day to grade-level happenings like class performances and Spirit Week, we regularly come together to share friendship and fellowship. There are so many ways to take part in school life, which is one thing that makes the Country Day experience so special.
On October 31, 2023, we celebrated our 75th Annual Lower School Halloween Parade—our school's longest tradition at a school that is chockful of history and tradition.
This year, pop culture was in abundance as many kids dressed as Barbie, Wednesday Addams, Super Mario, and various superheroes. But the Halloween Parade is not just for kids. Some parents dressed up, and our always creative teachers shined—such as the kindergarten team dressed as a heavy metal band "AB⚡CD."
Upper School takes part as student-athletes lead each grade, Aquilifer Club members lead each class, band members provide festive tunes, and the entire Upper School suspends class to cheer on their younger peers. On social, past parents and retired faculty reminisce about their fond memories of this wonderful tradition.
A big thank you to our Parents' Association volunteers.
