We're excited to offer two new hands-on camps at our new Weddington Farm:
Pick and Plate
June 3–7 (grades 2–4) and July 15–19 (grades 5–8). 9 am–4 pm. $575.
Welcome to our exciting culinary adventure, where the journey from farm to table is not just a concept but a hands-on experience! This camp offers a unique and immersive opportunity for junior chefs to explore the world of cooking by starting right at the source. In this camp, students will pick fresh fruits and vegetables straight from the farm and prepare their very own lunches and desserts! Participants will learn about the importance of sourcing local, seasonal produce and gain a deep understanding of the connection between the ingredients they choose and the delicious meals they create. Note: Campers will meet at Charlotte Country Day School and will be bussed to and from the Farm.
Fly Fishing with Jesse Brown's Outdoors
June 3–7 (grades 6–12) and July 15–19 (grades 6–12). 9 am–4 pm. $575.
During this summer camp, students will learn the basics of the sport of fly fishing. Topics such as the influences of water movements and entomology will be covered, along with explanations of equipment and knots that are used in the sport. The habitat and behaviors of different species of fish, resource conservation, the delivery of a fly, and proper catch and release techniques will be taught in this week-long, comprehensive course. The ultimate goal is to introduce the proper foundation of the sport of fly fishing that students can enjoy for a lifetime.
