The joy of learning was on display across the Lower School this week, from a hands-on science experience to creative problem-solving with 3D printing.
Lower School science teachers Taryn Page and Tom Fredenberg hosted several monarch butterfly releases, giving students the opportunity to observe the butterflies up close as they prepared to begin their migration. The releases offered a real-world connection to the science students have been learning in the classroom.

In third grade, students in Courtney Chambers’ Design Lab class put their creativity and design skills to the test as they tried out 3D-printed bubble wands they designed themselves. As part of their 3D printing unit, students are learning to use Tinkercad to create original designs and then bring those ideas to life through 3D printing.

Whether watching a monarch take flight or testing a bubble wand of their own design, students experienced the joy that happens when curiosity means hands-on learning.
