On May 20, 2026, the Upper School community gathered to honor student achievement at the annual Upper School Awards Ceremony and Senior Awards Night.
Students who demonstrated exceptional dedication across academics, leadership, service, athletics, and fine arts were honored. These awards reflect the values at the heart of Country Day – a commitment to excellence, character, and community.

Special Recognition
This year's awards ceremony included two particularly meaningful tributes. The 2026 Yearbook was dedicated to Director of Admissions and Financial Aid Nancy Ehringhaus, in recognition of her 43 years of service to Country Day. Rick Hackett, Upper School Math and Computer Science teacher and Schedule Coordinator, was honored with the F. Franklin Justice Award for his commitment to the school and his students.
Senior Night
Senior Night was a highlight of the evening, featuring a faculty address from Upper School Math teacher Darrel Bach, who was selected by the senior class as this year's faculty speaker. Country Day alum and Morehead Scholar Jonathan Justice ('91, '95) presented Avery Hedrick '26 with the Morehead-Cain Scholarship, and Chip Patrick from the US Naval Academy presented Sam Vanderhave with her appointment.
