Future Ecologists, Scientists, Mathematicians, and Researchers are being Developed at our Farm!

Looking back over the past year of programming at our farm, it is incredible the breadth of opportunities that our students have experienced already! Just this week, third graders learned how scientists study trees in a forest during science class and then took their knowledge to the forest. They used forestry tools and techniques to measure the diameter and height of 24 trees as one of the clues to identify the trees. This is part of a cross-divisional project to survey the forest at the farm, and our Middle School students will continue the research in May by coring the trees to determine their age.
