Fine Arts Induction Highlights Student Talent and Parent Engagement

The Upper School Fine Arts Honor Societies Induction Ceremony, held on March 11, was a meaningful evening that highlighted student achievement and the strength of our school community.

Following the ceremony, approximately 50–60 parents and students gathered in the Lower School cafeteria for a reception organized with the support of Friends of the Arts (FOTA).

The ceremony itself featured a special introduction by Upper School Fine Arts Department Chair Tom Delaney and remarks from alumna Ash Hernick ’23, who reflected on how her experiences in the arts at Country Day continue to shape her college journey and creative pursuits.

This year’s inductees included:

  • 30 National Art Honor Society members
  • 37 International Thespian Society members
  • 18 new and 39 returning Tri-M Music Honor Society members

Student performances were a highlight of the evening, showcasing the depth and variety of talent within the program.

Erin Cook, representing FOTA, also shared a brief overview of the many ways the parent organization supports students, faculty, and families in the arts throughout the year.

Thank you to the parents and volunteers whose time and care helped make the evening both memorable and meaningful.
