With more than 50 college-level course offerings, Country Day offers Upper School students multiple academic paths on their way to becoming fully prepared for college. Once again, students performed well on both Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) Exams.
International Baccalaureate (IB)
The IB Class of 2022 had a 100% passing rate on this well-rounded, internationally recognized curriculum, which is well above the U.S. and international averages. In fact, Stewart Peery, IB Diploma Program Coordinator, says the scores for the Class of 2022 are among the top five classes in Country Day's 30-year history of offering IB. This is even more impressive when you consider that the Class of 2022 began the IB program during hybrid learning.
Country Day was the first private school in North Carolina to offer The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. This two-year program for juniors and seniors includes promotes international-mindedness, develops research, writing, and thinking skills, and emphasizes reflection and growth. Country Day offers 24 IB courses.
