In honor of Native American Heritage Month, we invited Mr. Larry Yazzie, a two-time world champion Fancy Dancer, men’s Northern Traditional Dancer, and Eagle Dancer to share his culture with us through storytelling, music, and dance during our Town Meeting.
Mr. Yazzie is a member of the Meskwaki Nation from Iowa. It is there that he learned the traditional ways of his ancestors, and where he was also inspired to share his rich culture through his organization called, Native Pride Productions.
Mr. Yazzie has shared his gifts through performances across the globe and most notably, at the Kennedy Center, the Olympic Games, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the National Museum of the American Indian.
We are so grateful for his efforts to protect the legacy of the Meskwaki people by sharing his love and pride of his traditions and celebrations with us.
