A JK THROUGH 12 INDEPENDENT SCHOOL IN CHARLOTTE, NC

1941

The Upper School faculty participated in a facilitated small-group discussion relevant to teaching and learning and their own individual roles within the community.

Upper School Director of Studies, Tanya Andrysiak shared:

The intention of the program is threefold:

  • To build community among faculty. Many of you have expressed how isolating this year has been, as we are no longer eating together, meeting together, or naturally mingling. It’s time to reconnect!
  • To explore your own perspective on diversity, equity, and inclusion within small groups of trusted colleagues.
  • The feedback we received after the viewing of Prep School Negro was that many people want to feel more equipped or comfortable talking about topics that fall into the DEI realm. This small-group format should provide an entry point to begin feeling more comfortable.

This same small group will be officially reunited in June to continue with a program produced by Andre Robert Lee, our speaker, and director of PSN.
