After School

After School provides students in grades JK–8 with an opportunity to continue learning and engaging beyond the classroom day. Our program offers both the Extended Day Program and a range of after school enrichment classes held on campus. With a focus on safety and structure, we aim to create an enjoyable environment for students to learn, play, and have fun.

Extended Day Program

We understand busy schedules of our families. Our dedicated team is here to support children and families by providing a safe and vibrant space for children to stay when their school day ends. Balanced between academic support, outdoor play, extracurricular activities, and snack, students in grades JK–8 can attend Extended Day on an annual contract or occasional drop-in basis.

Enrollment Options

Drop-In Request

Need occasional help with after school care? Children are welcome to drop-in, but parents must submit a Drop-in Request Form at least 24 hours in advance. Cost is $15/hour and payment is billed monthly.

Contract

  • Parents are encouraged to enroll students on a contract basis if applicable since the hourly fees are less than the drop-in rate.
  • Enroll for one to five days a week on a monthly or annual contract basis. Refer to the Program Agreement and Fees for more details. A $75 registration fee due upon enrollment.

Dismissal/Pick-up Times
3:00 pm (carpool siblings only), 3:30 pm, 4:30 pm, 6 pm

Parent Conferences/Faculty Professional Days

Enrichment Classes

From music, art, and science to chess, karate, and cheerleading, enrichment classes are offered to Lower and Middle School students on campus after school. Classes are offered September through December and January through April). Review a list of class offerings.

Registration

  • Registration for enrichment classes occurs at the beginning of each semester and in early November for winter/spring classes. Registration is announced on BucsNet and in BucsNOW.
  • Registration is on a first come first served basis.
  • Registration Waiting List: Each program has a minimum and maximum number of students and we follow a 12:1 student-to-teacher/coach ratio (once more than 12 students are enrolled, another teacher may be added). After the maximum enrollment is reached, additional registrants will be put on a waiting list.

Payment

  • Classes are paid in full at time of registration and registrants receive an e-mail confirming program participation.
  • Refunds/Withdrawal: Classes are fully refundable if you withdraw prior to the first day of class. Refunds for withdrawal are not granted after the first day of class.
  • Cancellations: If a class does not meet the minimum number of required students, the class may be cancelled. If cancelled, parents will be notified and a full refund will be given. Cancellation of a class is at the discretion of Country Day, the contracting company, and the teacher.

Policies & Guidelines

  • Students are escorted to and from their classes. No student is left alone either going to or returning from an enrichment class.
  • Students who are not picked up on time are taken to Extended Day and the hourly rate will be charged.
  • Notify the After School Enrichment Office and regular classroom teacher about all carpool changes, as appropriate.
  • If students are absent from school or are not in school at class dismissal, they may not participate in After School Enrichment.
  • Students must adhere to the same rules and regulations of the regular school day.
