At Country Day, our Grandparents and Special Friends hold a meaningful place in our students’ lives. Your presence enriches our community, and we are delighted to welcome you—whether for the first time or back again—to campus! We look forward to sharing special moments with you in our classrooms, around campus, and alongside your little Bucs.

2025 Grandparents' & Special Friends' Day Details

Friday, May 2, 2025

We are thrilled to host Lower School (grades JK–4) and Middle School (grades 5–6) events on the same day! Below, you will find all the details you need to make the most of your visit. We can’t wait to welcome you!

Cannon Campus | Lower School (Grades JK–4)

Friday, May 2:

8:15–9:00 am – Visit junior kindergarten classrooms
8:45–9:30 am – Visit kindergarten classrooms
9:00–9:45 am – Visit 1st grade classrooms
9:15–10:00 am – Visit 2nd grade classrooms
9:45–10:30 am – Visit 3rd grade classrooms
10:00–10:45 am – Visit 4th grade classrooms

Check-In
No advance registration is required, but please check in with our staff and Parents’ Association volunteers upon arrival. Check-in opens at 7:45 am in front of the Lower School Administration Office. Parent volunteers and fourth grade students will guide you to your students' classroom.

Parking & Transportation
To ease parking congestion, we encourage parents to drop off and pick up their child's special guest in front of the Lower School Administration Office. Regular parking is available in the Levine Lot and Visitors Lot. Golf carts will be on hand for those needing assistance.

Hospitality Hubs
Enjoy coffee, conversation, and wayfinding at our Hospitality Hubs, conveniently located throughout the Lower School campus.

Campus Tours
Join our Parents’ Association volunteers for a guided tour of Cannon Campus!

9 am Tour: Meet volunteers at the sandbox area outside the junior kindergarten classrooms.
9:45 and 10:15 am Tours: Meet near the soccer field, adjacent to Bray (third-grade building) and Belk Hall (second-grade building).

Bissell Campus | Middle School (grades 5 & 6)

Friday, May 2: 11:15 am–12:30 pm

Check-In
Upon arrival at Bissell Campus, you will be warmly welcomed under the glass dome before being joined with your student to attend Advisory together. Please check in with our staff and Parents’ Association volunteers upon arrival. Check-in opens at 10:45 am. A brief program will follow in the Gym, with light refreshments provided in classrooms.

Parking
Parking attendants will guide you when you arrive on campus. Golf carts will be on hand for those needing assistance.

After the event, you’re welcome to enjoy an off-campus lunch with your student! While not required, students may leave with you for the remainder of the day.

Directions from Cannon Campus to Bissell Campus

Bissell Campus: 5936 Green Rea Road, (704) 943-4800

Estimated drive from Cannon Campus to Bissell Campus is 10–15 minutes.

Directions:
As you leave Cannon Campus, turn right onto Carmel Road and drive approximately three miles. Turn left onto Green Rea Road (almost immediately after you pass Carmel Country Club on the left). At the end of Green Rea Road, you will arrive at Bissell Campus on your right.
