One of the many things that makes Country Day special is our exceptional community, including our Grandparents and Special Friends! You play an integral part in our students' lives, and we are grateful for the opportunity to welcome you (back!) to campus!

We hope you will enjoy spending time on campus, in our classrooms, and with your little Bucs!

2024 Grandparents' & Special Friends' Day Details

Friday, May 3, 2024

We are excited to host both Lower (grades JK–4) and Middle (grades 5 and 6) School events on the same day! Please review the information below and don't hesitate to contact us with any questions. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Cannon Campus | Lower School (grades JK–4)

Friday, May 3:

8:15–9:00 am: Kindergarten Play in Gorelick Family Theater
8:45–9:30 am: Visit 1st grade classrooms
9:00–9:45 am: Visit junior kindergarten classrooms
9:15–10:00 am: Visit 2nd grade classrooms
9:45–10:30 am: Visit 3rd grade classrooms
10:00–10:45 am: Visit 4th grade classrooms

Check-In
Though you do not need to register in advance, we kindly ask that you check in with our staff and Parents' Association volunteers once you arrive on campus. Check-in opens at 7:45 am in front of the Lower School Administration Office.

Parking
To alleviate any parking stress on Cannon Campus, we encourage parents to drop off and pick up their child's special guest in front of the Lower School Administration Office where check-in volunteers will be found. Regular parking will be available in both the Levine and Visitors Lots. Golf carts will be available for anyone who requires assistance.

Hospitality Hubs
Visit our Hospitality Hubs, located throughout the Lower School campus, for coffee, conversation, and wayfinding.

If inclement weather occurs, Hospitality Suites will be located in the Claudia Belk Conference Room and the Hance Lower School Learning Center.

Tours
Join our Parents' Association volunteers to tour Cannon Campus. Meet volunteers next to the soccer field, adjacent to Bray (third grade building) and Belk Hall (second grade building). Tours begin at 8:45 am, 9:15 am, and 10:00 am.

Bissell Campus | Middle School (grades 5 & 6)

Friday, May 3: 11:15 am–12:15 pm

When you arrive to Bissell Campus, you will be greeted under the glass dome. We will have you all attend advisory with your student and then gather for a brief program in the Gym. Light refreshments will be provided in the classrooms. Additional details to come.

After we conclude, you and your student(s) are welcome to enjoy lunch together off campus (though not required, students may leave with you for the remainder of the day).

Directions from Cannon Campus to Bissell Campus

Bissell Campus: 5936 Green Rea Road, (704) 943-4800

Estimated drive from Cannon Campus to Bissell Campus is 10–15 minutes.

Directions:
As you leave Cannon Campus, turn right onto Carmel Road and drive approximately three miles. Turn left onto Green Rea Road (almost immediately after you pass Carmel Country Club on the left). At the end of Green Rea Road, you will arrive at Bissell Campus on your right.
