Please join us in welcoming our newest Klein Aquatic Center member, Mackenzy Vancil, who will serve as the Assistant Aquatics Manager and assist in all aspects of operating the Klein Aquatics Center.
Mackenzy’s background is rooted in all things aquatic and athletics. After graduating from East Carolina University in 2022 with a degree in Sports Studies and a minor in Natural Sciences, she taught lessons at Little Otter Swim School, where she won instructor of the year.
Mackenzy joined the Country Day team in August of 2022 as a lifeguard and swim instructor. The responsibilities of her new position will include lifeguarding, staff scheduling, overseeing all components of swim lessons, assist with management of the pre-swim team, recruitment and training of new guards and instructors, assisting with administering all aquatics safety audits for active lifeguards and swim instructors, and assisting with the daily maintenance.

I am excited to bring Mackenzy on full-time at Klein Aquatic Center. Since joining us last fall, she has been a strong presence as a lifeguard and swim instructor, setting an example through her leadership and hard work ethic. She will be a great asset to the Country Day community and growing our aquatics program.”
We are thrilled to welcome Mackenzy to our staff! When you see her around campus and at the pool, please give her a warm welcome to our community.
