Ben’s background is nothing short of impressive. “With his deep understanding and love of swimming and pool management, he knows how to produce success, in the pool and behind the scenes,” says Masanori Toguchi. “Ben is eager to teach, learn, and build upon our curriculum. He is a skilled coach and an effective communicator. He has an unmatched passion for swimming, and we are excited to welcome him to the Country Day community.”
Ben will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the aquatics program and is excited to continue to provide programming at all age levels for our community and the greater Charlotte region. In the winter season, Ben will take on the Head Coach position for our Middle School swim team.

Ben has been swimming since he was 5 years old in his hometown of Williamsburg, VA. His love for the sport only grew, and he has been involved with it ever since. The experiences and friendships he’s built within the swimming community have kept him engaged and eager to aid in growing the sport, both in competition and at leisure. He is passionate about swim safety and education, always emphasizing that swimming is a life-saving skill that everyone should have access to. Ben graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Sport Administration, and earned his Master’s degree in Sports Management from the University of New York - Cortland. Ben swam at UNC-Chapel Hill, earning the 4X NCAA All-American title, as well as being named to the US National Team in 2014-2015. He is a former ACC and UNC record holder in the 200Y Butterfly.
