“Coach Bob Peterson has led the way in developing our swimmers at various levels, but with the same passion and purpose. We are proud of the swimming program he has built, where it stands today, and its bright future ahead. We thank him for all he has done for Country Day and BUCSWIM.”

Coach Peterson has taken the Bucs through demanding schedules, created a competitive and unified team dynamic through BUCSWIM, and has countless conference and state achievements. In the 24 years as our Program Head, he has secured 288 wins, 8 CISAA Conference Championships (the only ones in school history), 3 NCISAA State Championships (the only ones in school history), 4 NCISAA Runner Up State Championships, and 20 Top 5 team finishes at the NCISAA State Championship.

Peterson has not only been a coach, but a fan, a friend, and a mentor on the pool deck, truly giving his all to our program. He built a culture of excellence here at Country Day where each swimmer felt welcomed and empowered to be the best version of themselves. The program grew from 10 swimmers’, grades 7th – 12th in his first year to consistently having 80 – 100 swimmers from 7th – 12th grade.

As Coach Peterson moves on from serving as the Swimming Program Head, we thank Coach Peterson for his legacy of BUCSWIM and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

Peterson added, “It has been an honor to serve as the Head Coach of Country Day Swimming for the past 24 years.  I look forward to seeing what the future holds for the program and being a part of that in any way possible.”

Once a Buc, always Buc.
