College Search Process
Country Day college counselors are fully committed to helping every student find a college or university that best matches their aspirations—a place where they will flourish.
Our administrators and team of professional college counselors maintain relationships with college and university admissions offices all across the country.
Our Step-By-Step Process
Early Encouragement
From a very early age, Country Day students are guided toward establishing a strong academic record and participating in community service, sports, special interest pursuits, and leadership opportunities, actively shaping the way they will be perceived by colleges.
Course Selection Guidance
Advisors and college counselors work with ninth and tenth graders to select courses that will help establish an exemplary record.
Personal Guidance
Advisors and college counselors get to know each student personally and help identify and answer important questions: What size school will suit me? How far from home would I like to be? What type of campus culture is important to me?
College Counselors
Every student is assigned a college counselor who provides holistic guidance throughout the college admissions process.
Family Education Forums
The College Counseling Office hosts regular educational forums in every grade level to help students and their parents understand the search process.
Access to College Representatives
During the school year, more than 150 college admissions representatives visit the Country Day campus to meet with juniors and seniors and answer questions.
