Athletics At Country Day
Our Athletics program is a fundamental part of a Country Day education. On average, 85 percent of our students in Grades 7–12 participate on at least one interscholastic team in a given school year. Student-athletes have the opportunity to build lasting relationships with their teammates and learn important life lessons while experiencing the pride of competing for their school. Buccaneer teams have built a storied tradition, earning 136 state championships in the school’s history.
All of Country Day’s fall sports, with the exception of football, have wrapped up their seasons with two teams reaching NCISAA 4A state championship games before falling short of state titles.
John Demas ’19 and Sarah Powers ’20 have been named the recipients of the Country Day Strength and Conditioning Hard Hat Award for Fall 2018.
For the second straight year, the Country Day girls' lacrosse and boys' tennis teams wrapped up an outstanding year of Buccaneer Athletics by bringing home NCISAA state championships.
