Michaela Lawson has joined the Country Day Athletics staff in the role of Softball Program Head/Head Varsity Softball Coach.

Lawson recently relocated to the Charlotte area from her home state of Colorado, where she founded and ran a softball training program, 8K Fastpitch, and coached both high school and travel softball.

Kasey Cone '24 won the NCISAA 4A Girls' Cross Country individual title

A fall season like no other concluded in mid-November with a series of NCISAA competitions that saw Country Day student-athletes produce strong individual and team performances. After all the results were in, The Bucs has compiled one individual state championship, two team runner-up finishes, and 19 individual All-State recognitions. Country Day finished the fall season ranked 3rd in the 4A division of the NCISAA’s Wells Fargo Cup standings, which awards points for team postseason finishes across all sports.

Del Pino Tabbed As New Girls' Soccer Program Head

Country Day Director of Athletics, Abe Wehmiller, has announced the hiring of Oscar Del Pino as the Bucs' new Girls' Soccer Program Head and Head Varsity Girls' Soccer Coach. Del Pino comes to Country Day after 12 seasons leading the boys' soccer program at Charlotte Catholic.

Country Day student-athletes have benefited this year from the presence of two new faces in the program: Taylor Smith and Stefan Montanez have joined the Bucs’ Strength & Conditioning staff as part of a Coaching Fellows pilot program and have helped elevate already strong training programs to new levels.
