On April 9, the Class of 2025 spent time with Country Day alumni to gain valuable insights into the world of professional development and life beyond senior year. This Senior Networking session combined elements of networking and mentorship and provided students with practical advice on how to build meaningful relationships, apply for internships, embrace curiosity, and position setbacks as opportunities throughout college and early careers.
The alumni panel consisted of a diverse range of professionals who discussed essential topics including networking, personal branding, and the skills needed to succeed in the ever-evolving professional landscape. Our alumni shared firsthand experiences of their nonlinear career paths and the lessons they've learned, without focusing on specific titles or companies. Students were given a glimpse into what resources they can use on their college campuses and how to actively plug into our robust alumni network, offering tools to help navigate the transition with confidence.
One of the Alumni Council’s key initiatives for the 2024-25 school year is to create a more dynamic networking platform for our alumni. Spearheaded by Alumni Council President Hayes Ashcraft ’06 and Alumni Council Engagement Chair Sebastian Ekberg ’06, this event was designed as a third touchpoint with our students throughout the year. The senior networking forum complements our College Forum panel, where young alumni discuss the college admissions process and campus life, as well as our Career Connections panel, where alumni share insights into various career paths.
This event provides a powerful reminder of the strength of alumni connections, with many returning to campus to connect with former teachers, coaches, and friends. It provided the Class of 2025 with not only practical advice but also the inspiration to move forward into the next chapter of their lives with confidence and purpose—knowing they can rely on their Country Day connections beyond the classroom.
