On April 26, the Country Day community gathered to celebrate not just a stadium, but a legacy.
The morning began with our Annual Alumni Lacrosse Game on Dowd Field—a spirited matchup filled with camaraderie and pride. As the game concluded, alumni, families, students, and colleagues gathered for a tailgate lunch and a meaningful moment in school history: the official dedication of the Touma Stadium at Dowd Field, which will be completed by the Fall 2025.
Set against a backdrop of spring sunshine, the ceremony featured heartfelt remarks from MC Belk Pilon ’92, Patrick Hobson ’89, and George Hodgin ’05, a surprise tribute video, and inspiring words from Coach Touma himself. The stadium, built in honor of Coach Touma’s decades of leadership and mentorship, is more than a facility—it’s a tribute to character, commitment, and community.

So many of my formative years took place here. It’s only fitting that this field, a place for young people to grow up, will forever bear Coach’s name. The irony is that we’ve all known this place, without an official designation, as the place we’d shared so many memories and learned what it is to be a teammate. There are two constants here, Dowd Field, the physical place, and Coach Touma. The irony is that it’s nothing more than a game, and it all started with fun. But as soon as you stepped on this field for the first time, you changed. This was and is a family you couldn’t let down. You better carry yourself with integrity and look nice around campus, you better be polite in class, you better hold yourself to a high standard and one that Coach Touma would be proud of. Regardless of what sports my children choose, all I care about is that my children find a role model like Coach Touma. Someone who personifies values that we all want our children to espouse and now values that we as adults try to adopt to this day.”

Special thanks to the Athletics and Advancement teams, the Boosters Club, and all who helped bring this day to life. Coach Touma, your legacy lives on in every player who takes the field.
