Tuition and Financial Aid

• The Clarity Family Application Guide walks families through the process, ranging from sharing important tips before you apply to answering frequently asked questions.
• The application typically takes less than an hour to complete and is mobile-friendly, so you can complete it from anywhere.
• At the end of the application, expect to pay and submit a $65 fee.
• Country Day requires a 1040 Income Tax Return, W2 forms, and a recent pay stub. The tax documents (1040 and W2 forms) will be collected automatically through your Clarity application. In most cases, you will only upload your most recent paystub(s) to the Clarity app.
• The deadline for completing the financial aid application including relevant supplemental documents is November 1 for current families and January 15 for prospective families. 
• If you need support during the process of completing your application, there is in-app support available through the "Help" button in the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support at support@clarityapp.com or (206) 210-3752, in both English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish.

We are committed to transparency and providing families with a clear understanding of the financial aspects associated with a Country Day education. While tuition covers the core educational experience including technology, students may encounter additional expenses based on their grade level. These could include items such as textbooks and supplies in grades 5–12, consolidated activity fees, and athletic/sports fees. The following provides an estimate of additional expenses.

Lower School: $100-$200
Middle School: $200–$400
Upper School: $200-$700

Families can also opt for services like before and after-school transportation, extended day programs, enrichment programs, and tutoring.

We believe in fostering an inclusive environment where all students have equal opportunities for a comprehensive education and, as such, create opportunities for financial assistance beyond tuition where appropriate.

• An Enrollment Deposit of 10% of tuition is required at the time of enrollment. This amount is credited to the total tuition due.
• Families in application for financial aid pay a reduced deposit, which is refundable if the financial aid award is not substantial enough to enable the child to attend.
• There are three payment options to pay the remainder of the tuition:
  • Full tuition paid by July 15.
  • Two equal installments to be paid in July and January.
  • 10-month payment plan set up with an automatic bank draft.

Financial aid is based on the family's ability to pay as demonstrated by the information submitted to Clarity. Both custodial and non-custodial parents (regardless of legal settlements) who are divorced, separated, or never married are expected to contribute to educational costs and are required to submit an application through Clarity. In exceptional cases, where one parent cannot comply, the custodial parent should submit a written explanation. Lack of information from either parent may prevent the family from receiving financial aid.

Financial aid awards are made for one year. Parents are required to re-apply for financial assistance every year. Unless there is a significant change in annual income or available assets, parents can normally expect the level of assistance to be continued from year to year if the student's performance at Country Day meets the expectations of the Financial Aid Committee.
