Main Office/Administration

Home to administrative offices, including the Head of Middle School, and the school nurse.

Rea Hall

Fifth and sixth grade classrooms are housed in Rea Hall, where students begin to grow in responsibility and independence as they switch classes.

Dowd Science Building

Large, airy lab-lecture-style classrooms are fully equipped to support the Middle School’s hands-on science program.

Community Garden and Greenhouse

The garden and greenhouse enable science, language classes, advisories, and Garden Club to extend the curriculum beyond the classroom through crop-growing and pollinator support, in a real-life setting. Students grow food for the local Country Day and greater Charlotte communities, and support global conservation efforts for pollinators such as the endangered Monarch butterfly.

Dougherty Library

Offers access to more than 10,000 books and digital material. The school library/media program is an integral part of the instructional process. Students receive whole-class, small group, and one-on-one instruction and practice their skills through authentic activities and research.

Modern & Classical Languages

Students participate in French, Spanish, and Latin language options.
