Welcome Dr. Tara Christie Kinsey

A nationally recognized leader in independent school education, Tara Christie Kinsey, PhD, began her tenure as Country Day’s 13th Head of School on July 1, 2025.

Prior to her arrival, Dr. Kinsey completed a decade-long tenure leading The Hewitt School, a K–12 independent school for girls in New York City. During the 2024–25 school year, she visited Country Day's campuses multiple times, actively listening and learning about our community. Through these visits and her early days in the role, she has engaged deeply with students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and school leaders past and present. In doing so, our community has already seen the many strengths she brings as a highly competent and visionary educator—one who is ready to amplify the school’s mission with care, clarity, and compassion.
