First Holiday Visit To Head’s House

Our first Holiday Trimming at the Head's House was in 1992
In 1992, in her first year as Head of School, Margaret Gragg Bissell invited Lower School students to visit the Head's House just before the holiday break. Students create handmade ornaments to decorate two 10-foot Christmas trees located at the Head of School's house. This beloved tradition has taken place every year since (even during COVID with modifications).

Children in grades JK–4 make ornaments celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa and sing festive songs. In exchange, students receive a decorated gingerbread cookie.
