During the 2014–15 school year, we piloted a 1:1 technology initiative with seventh-grade students and teachers, who received iPads, and ninth-grade students and teachers, who received Surface Pros.
Country Day began the 2015–16 school year with a full technology rollout to all students and teachers in grades 3–12. Thanks to a $1 million investment made possible by the Annual Fund (now called the Country Day Fund), every student in these grades received a school-issued computing device with no fees or tuition increase.
The 1:1 technology effort was a direct result of our community’s input into the Strategic Plan. The initiative blended the best elements of traditional teaching—strong student/teacher relationships—with the inventive nature of digital learning so that students would be ready for the future.
