Educational Resource Program

Celebrating diverse learning styles and empowering students to become confident, independent learners.

Teacher with students

The Educational Resource Program (ERP) assists students in grades junior kindergarten through grade 12 by providing individualized support, comprehensive academic resources, and extensive guidance for students, parents, and faculty. The focus is on helping students successfully navigate Country Day's curricular expectations and maximize academic potential.

Lower School

In Lower School, our Educational Resource team applies their specialized training in learning differences to support students during their early learning. The ERP offers:

  • Individualized, one-to-one tutoring and small group multisensory instruction focused on literacy and math skills development. This framework is valuable in addressing potential gaps in understanding and mastery of basic learning skills in the early grades.
  • Speech-language and occupational screening and therapy. Speech-language and occupational therapists play an important role in literacy development. Services from outside professionals may be recommended to assist in providing a more comprehensive educational plan for students.

Middle School

As students continue to grow as learners in the Middle School, our ERP team supports students who experience general academic difficulties due to challenges with work organization, time management, reading efficiency, problem-solving strategies, attention issues, and/or learning differences. Our tutors work closely with students to maximize their strengths and bolster self-advocacy and self-confidence. Tutors use their expertise and curricular knowledge to incorporate individualized learning strategies and skills into subject-specific instruction and reinforcement.

Upper School

In the Upper School, our ERP tutors provide support and review to assist students with mastery of content area information as well as time management, organizational, and study skills strategies. We encourage increased independence and self-advocacy as students mature. For juniors and seniors, assistance with College Board and ACT documentation regarding requests for accommodations is provided.
