CCDS in the Summer

Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer Camp                                 
Director: Ian Dennis (704-943-4800). Rising K–grade 6. June 30–July 3, 9:00 a.m. to noon. $130 (payable with application). E-mail: ian.dennis@charlottecountryday.org
Ian Dennis is a graduate of UNC-Charlotte, where he received Academic All-American honors in 1992. He is a former captain of the then nationally ranked UNC-Charlotte soccer team and has also played professionally with the Charlotte Eagles. Coach Dennis is a United States Soccer Federation “A” license coach. He was recognized three times as North Carolina Independent School’s Coach of the Year in 1996, 2000, and 2005. His girls’ and boys’ varsity teams have combined for more than 200 wins since his arrival at Country Day in 1994. The camps cater to players of all abilities, with emphasis placed on improving technical ability in a competitive and fun environment. Current and former collegiate players and CCDS staff coaches assist at the camp.

David Knox is in his sixth year teaching Lower School physical education and coaching varsity soccer at Charlotte Country Day School. Coach Knox is an English Football Association licensed coach. The focus of this camp is on technique including first touch, dribbling, passing, tackling, heading, and shooting. These skills are put into practice in competitive game-type situations in a fun though challenging environment. Current and former CCDS boys' and girls' soccer players and CCDS staff coaches assist at the camp.
