Girls' Field Hockey Camps
Girls’ Field Hockey—Advanced Camp

Directed by CCDS varsity coach Lisa Thompson, this camp provides you with skill development and expert instruction. Thompson has a 10-year career in coaching collegiate and high school field hockey at the Division I and Division II levels. Coaching staff consists of Division I collegiate athletes and current coaches, as well as top local high school coaches. The camp stresses all tactical and strategic aspects of the game. The focus is on stick handling, passing options and attacking patterns, shooting, defensive skill, and game play. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills. Become a part of the winning tradition of Charlotte Country Day field hockey. A great opportunity to develop your skills! Directed by CCDS varsity coach Lisa Thompson and Middle School coach Dorcas Zeeso, this camp is a great and fun way to learn and excel in the sport of field hockey. Athletes are divided into appropriate age groups and skill levels. The camp focuses on all skill development, game play and strategy. This camp helps to prepare you for training during the summer months, as well as great preparation for the August tryouts.
Girls’ Field Hockey—PreSeason Training—Bissell Campus

Please note: This camp is held at the Middle School campus.
Dorcas Zeeso is a 24-year veteran of Country Day. She has nearly 40 years of coaching experience, and has been the 8th grade coach for the past 15 years. Her strengths include a very clear understanding of middle school age, abilities, and limitations. Camps include age appropriate drills, skill development, games, and tournaments. The August pre-season refresher is an ideal time to prepare for the middle school tryouts.
Middle School Field Hockey Conditioning Camp

The field hockey conditioning camps are not skills camps but camps that physically prepare your body for the demands of the sport. Coach Clark spent 2007 visiting with field hockey national powers such as Duke, North Carolina, and Wake Forest Universities. You will learn middle school modified versions of their training practices. Speed, strength, and power are the themes of the camp and you learn how to take your physical ability to the next level. At the end of the camp each camper receives three different detailed training programs that include four traveling/beach workouts, three weight room workouts, one pool workout, and a nutritional plan that directs you through the remainder of the summer. Field Hockey Preseason Conditioning Camp

Have you been at the beach, in and out of town, or just haven’t had much activity over the summer? Maybe you have been training all summer and don’t want to lose any of your gains before tryouts. This camp gives you the opportunity to train for two weeks prior to the very competitive field hockey tryout process. Each workout has a diverse itinerary that features speed, agility, plyometrics (jumping), flexibility, and plenty of core (abdominal) training. Whether you are trying to make the team or just trying to have the best season possible, you can never go wrong reporting to fall practice in the best shape of your life. Advanced Field Hockey Conditioning Camp

This camp is designed for the high school field hockey athlete who is serious about taking their athletic abilities to the next level. The field hockey conditioning camps are not skills camps but camps that physically prepare your body for the demands of the sport. You will learn the training practices first hand from these elite institutions. Speed, strength, and power is the theme for this camp and at the conclusion each camper receives three different detailed training programs that include four traveling beach workouts, three weight room workouts, one pool workout, and a nutritional plan that directs you through the remainder of the summer. In addition there is a designated time the field hockey teams can train in the weight room at CCDS for the remainder of the summer using the workouts from this camp.
