CCDS in the Summer

Boys’ Basketball Camp                    
Director: Alfonzo Duncan (704-943-4783). Ages 5–15. Age groups are broken down as follows: 5–8 years old; 9–12 years old; 13–15 years old. Camps are 8:00 a.m. to noon unless noted. June 10–13, June 16–19 (1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.), June 23–26, July 7–10, and July 28–31. $195 (payable with application). E-mail: alfonzo.duncan@charlottecountryday.org
Games are played every day following drills/stations. Coach Duncan has invited various pro basketball players and celebrity Division I basketball players that he has coached/developed over the years to the camp.

With high school and college-level coaching experience, Alfonzo Duncan joined the Charlotte Country Day School Athletic Department in 2005–2006 as varsity boys’ basketball coach. Coach Duncan also serves as basketball program supervisor for grades 7–12.

Coach Duncan comes to Country Day from Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia, where he served as the Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach to the post-graduate team and Head coach of the high school team. He also has prior coaching experience at R. J. Reynolds High School where he served as the top assistant coach for the high school team and head junior varsity coach (Winston-Salem), Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton, Florida), North Carolina A & T State University (Greensboro) and Virginia Tech Men’s Basketball Team. Coach Duncan has trained over 120 Division I basketball players throughout his career. He has players currently playing in the ACC, Big XII, and Conference USA. He also coached and trained Gary Durrant who was the 1999 College Slam Dunk Champion.
