Sharks’ World
Rising K–grade 2. July 7–11, 9:00 a.m. to noon. $170.
Most people fear and hate sharks, but did you know that sharks, like most other species of ocean life, are an essential part of the sea’s ecosystem? They also are among the most ancient forms of fish to have survived for millions of years: highly efficient predators that have few enemies other than man. How have our modern world and the shark’s ancient one collided? Are sharks really endangered? Are sharks useful to humans and do you need to protect their numbers? Campers learn to draw a different type of shark each day, and learn facts and fiction surrounding their size, metabolism, habits, habitat, and their past and future. You create sea-themed crafts and even taste some fishy treats!
