Girls Soccer

Team History
In the early part of the 70s, girls’ soccer first came on the scene, but it was not a sanctioned varsity sport until the spring of 1987 when Coach Bob Doherty led the Bucs as the first head coach of the program. He coached the team for five seasons and brought them to the NCISAA tournament four times. Coach Robbie Church took over the team in 1992, and that season the Bucs earned a trip to the state championship and came out on top, State Champs, in a thrilling triple overtime victory over Charlotte Latin. The Bucs were the NCISAA State Champs one additional time, in the 2006 season, under Head Coach Ian Dennis. Coach Nate McManis is starting his third year as the program head for the girls’ program.
