Freezing temperatures are predicted overnight and into the morning, which will cause icy roads and unsafe driving conditions. Therefore, Country Day will be closed TOMORROW, Thursday, January 18. All school-related activities, athletic events, and Extended Day are cancelled.
Administrators will continue to monitor the weather and road conditions. As of now, school is scheduled to be open on a regular schedule on Friday, January 19, and we will communicate with you if any changes are made.
We continually place the safety of our students, faculty, and staff as our top priority. Thank you and be safe.

Planning for the Future
While it’s true that learning can take place just about anywhere, students and faculty thrive when they work in spaces that fully support innovative and creative academic programming. As part of the Strategic Plan process, the school community expressed a desire to ensure we continue to offer our students a distinctive and sustainable learning environment.
The Administrative Council and the Property and Grounds Committee of the Board of Trustees have worked with Centerbrook Architects and Planners to develop a Master Facilities Plan that supports our students’ needs for decades to come. After multiple assessment visits to campus and meetings and interviews with trustees, administrators, faculty, students, and parents, Centerbrook developed a facilities plan that:
- Recognizes the need for flexible learning and gathering spaces
- Supports 21st century academic programming, including STEM (science, technology, engineering, math)
- Addresses students’ well-being in all aspects of student life
The Master Facilities Plan was approved by the Board of Trustees in May 2014. Stay tuned for future updates as plans unfold.
