Posted January 14, 2013

Nate McManis has been named the new varsity girls’ soccer coach, replacing Ian Dennis who stepped down from the position after last season. Previously Coach McManis served as the head junior varsity girls’ soccer coach for eight years.

“We are extremely pleased Nate has accepted this position,” said Director of Athletics Amos Branson. “Nate brings a wealth of soccer knowledge and experience to our soccer program having served as both the JV girls and boys coach since 2004. His familiarity with our athletics program and the relationships he has developed will bode well for the future development of our soccer program."

Coach McManis played soccer at the University of West Virgina in Morgantown, and played club soccer in West Virginia, as well. He has worked locally with the Charlotte United youth soccer program. Mr. McManis has been teaching Lower School physical education at CCDS for eight years and will remain the varsity assistant soccer coach during the fall season.

Eddie Mitchell has been named the head junior varsity girls’ soccer coach. He worked as Charlotte Country Day’s 8th grade boys’ soccer coach at the Middle School this past fall. He brings a wealth of knowledge of the game and has experience at all levels.
