Student Life
Lower School students may participate in activities facilitated
by Charlotte Country Day teachers. In addition, Coordinate
Programs are offered after school for interested students.
Community Service
Service initiatives begin in the Lower School. Students learn
that their small acts of kindness can make a big difference
in the lives of others.
Oceanography Club
Grade-four students who choose to join this club meet regularly
with teachers after school to learn about and research ocean
ecosystems. The club combines social studies, science, reading,
and art. The highlight is a weeklong trip in June, when students
travel with parents and teachers for field study along the
Outer Banks.
Parent/Child Book Club
Four book clubs involving mothers and daughters and fathers
and sons are offered to students in third and fourth grades.
Novels are chosen to promote conversation between parents
and children, and the clubs are facilitated by the school
guidance counselor.
