To ensure that facilities are commensurate with the high level
of programs offered, the school must continue to make capital investments
in facilities and equipment.
Believe and Achieve: Campaign For Tomorrow (19992002)
Goal: $30 million. Raised: $33.7 million
The Bissell Campus Project (1997)
Raised over $2 million toward the following projects:
- Constructed new Sklut Arts and Activities Center and other Middle
School improvements. Sklut Arts and Activities Center houses:
- Two art rooms
- Computer and general music rooms
- Satellite computer room
- Cafeteria (which quickly converts to an auditorium for band,
choir, strings, and other performances. Is also used for visiting
speakers, speech contests, parents' meetings, and other special
events.
- Former art rooms in Rea Hall converted into administration offices
and a nurse's station
- Previous cafeteria converted into a room for band, dance, and
PE activities
Former computer room renovated for use as faculty work space

- Middle School facility enhancements
- New theater
- Performance gym
- Unrestricted endowment
- Up fit Lower School fine arts classrooms

Expanding Future Opportunities/Next Step Forward Campaigns
(1993)
Raised over $11.3 million toward the following projects:
- Renovation of Dickson-Sanger Dining Hall, the Cannon Science Building, and Pell Hall
- Increased endowments for faculty salaries and student scholarships
- Improved athletic facilities (Belk Stadium and a new tennis
complex)
- Added much-needed classroom space on both campuses
- Constructed new playground areas for Lower Schoolers
- Established new endowments for the maintenance of Cannon Campus
- Built new classroom and administrative complex (Levine Center)
