Dress Code

Students should attend the school properly attired in clothes that are neat, clean, and in good repair. A CCDS student is expected to accept this responsibility, and the school depends upon the cooperation of the entire school community in adhering to the spirit of this code. For specific details, please review the guidelines below:

Lower School Dress Code

Foreign Language (grade 2-4 students)

Students in grades JK-1 take both French and Spanish. Starting in second grade, students focus on one foreign language. The form below should be completed for new students in grades 2, 3, and 4.

Q

When does school start?

A

The first day of school for all students is Wednesday, August 21, 2013. Special activities and orientations are planned for new CCDS students, so families should plan to be back in town by August 19.

What are the school hours?

A

Jr. kindergarten: 8 am-1:15 pm
Kindergarten: 8 am-2 pm
Grades 1-2: 8 am-2:50 pm
Grades 3-4: 8 am-3:05 pm
Grades 5-8: 8 am-3:10 pm
Grades 9-12: 8 am-3:15 pm

When will I know who my child's teacher is?

A

Lower School students will receive their teacher assignment in mid-August. Middle and Upper School students also receive their course schedules in mid-August, with several days allotted for Upper School students to drop/add classes before the start of school..

What are the Extended Day hours?

A

Extended Day begins at 1 pm with JK dismissal and runs until 6 pm. For specific information, please call the Extended Day Office at (704) 943- 4648.

When will I have access to BucsNet?

A

In early August, you will receive a package that includes your BucsNet login information, your Parents' Handbook, the school calendar, and other important information for the school year. In the meantime, please check this page for information you may need now. And always feel free to call the Admissions Office with any questions you may have.

Where can I purchase Country Day attire for my child?

A

The Cannon Campus bookstore sells CCDS apparel for all ages, as well as school supplies. Bookstore hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-1:00 pm and 2:30-4:00 pm. Additionally, the Boosters Club sells CCDS spirit wear at various events throughout the year.

How do I find out about bus service?

A

Bus contracts for the upcoming school year are mailed to parents in early May. Buses fill quickly, so it's important to return your contract promptly. For more information, please call Lynette Harris, (704) 943-4557.

How does my child buy lunch?

A

Students can either bring their lunch or purchase it in the Dining Hall. Every student has an ID card that is scanned and parents receive a monthly statement from the Business Office. The lunch calendar is posted on BucsNet so parents may discuss lunch options with their children.
