-
Q
What differentiates you from other area independent schools?
-
A
Charlotte Country Day School is the oldest independent school in Charlotte. Founded in 1941, CCDS is the largest independent, coeducational college preparatory school in the area and among the top 20 in the country. Recognized for our academic excellence, acclaimed international studies program, state-of-the-art technological resources, and opportunities in arts, athletics, community service, and leadership, Charlotte Country Day is committed to increasing our community of diverse and international students. We were the first school in Charlotte to offer English as a Second Language (ESL) and have continued to attract and enroll numerous international and students of color.
-
Q
Is your campus safe for my children?
-
A
Yes. We have full-time security personnel who work on both
campuses 24 hours a day. In addition, the school has an emergency
plan in place that has been practiced and refined for all school
community members.
-
Q
How can parents get involved?
-
A
Our Parents' Association is happy to welcome all new families
into its membership upon acceptance to Country Day. There are
numerous volunteer opportunities no matter what your time commitment
is. We look for ways to involve parents and would not be the school
we are without our parental support.
-
Q
Will my child feel welcome as a new student?
-
A
Many activities are planned to help all children with the
transition into Country Day. Buddy students are assigned to all
rising grades 1-12 students. We try to match personalities and
interests in making buddy assignments. Students and faculty are
very welcoming and enjoy having new students in their classroom.
-
Q
How can I afford a private education?
-
A
Charlotte Country Day's financial aid program was
designed to help the school enroll a talented, bright, socially
and economically diverse community of students who might otherwise
not be able to attend CCDS. Please visit our financial
aid page for more information or contact the admissions office
