August 2000 The renovated theater is complete and ready to
host more than 70 events each year. In April 2001 the theater
is named the Gorelick Family Theater.
Summer 2001 The Believe & Achieve campaign concludes,
having raised $33.7 million for CCDS, making it the largest
capital campaign ever held by an independent school in the
Carolinas, raising more than 10 percent over the $30 million
goal. The campaign allows the school to complete 14 construction
and renovation projects.
August 2001 The Bruton Smith Athletic Center, a much-needed
facility to support Country Day's award-winning PE program
and 64 athletic teams, opens its doors.
March 2003 The Harris Gymnasium is torn down to make room
for a new fine arts classroom building.
August 2004 The Upper School Fine Arts Center, a state-of the-art
facility opens its doors to house the fine arts and humanities programs.
